Recording cash refund from personal bank account

I recently couldn’t access my business banking account to withdraw £50 to process a cash refund for a customer so I took it out of my own personal account. How do I record this as a business transaction in QF so that it is logged as a customer refund?

I don’t have my personal account in Quick File as I don’t use it much for business transactions unless I have no choice.

Are you a sole trader, partnership or a limited company?

I am registered as a Sole trader

If that’s the case, you have a Proprietor’s bank account which you can use for things like this. If you haven’t already, raise the credit note against the invoice for that client:

Then when you save it, you can select the drawings account:

This account should be the one you tag any drawings to, so if you compensate yourself out of the business account, you would simply tag the money out of the bank as a transfer to this account.

Hopefully that makes sense!

Edit: You said you don’t have your bank account on QuickFile, but this account will exist. It’s set up by the software and can’t be deleted.
