Account Lock and Hidden Journal

Hi,

I am trying to update the accounts to bring them in line with account ends so that there is just one year to do… this is only because we moved from another accounting platform… anyway… I cannot move the account date back to 2012 as it is saying there is a Year End account journal but I cannot see it in the journal screen…

could you please tell me where to find this hidden little rascal

There was a set of journals on the Extended Trial Balance that had a lock attached to it. I’ve removed that for now so you should be able to proceed with manually changing the lock date.

As far as I am aware this feature is only available on certain accounts. However if it’s enabled it should be on the main list of account settings at the bottom.

Nope can’t see that on the list I have year end process… is it something we can have enabled?

The lock must have originated from elsewhere then, although I’m not sure where?

The ETB was always an experimental feature, it’s was aimed at accountants for batch year-end journalling. We’re no longer developing the ETB so I’m afraid it’s not something we can enable on new accounts.

Hi I have 1 journal that is stating that it cannot be deleted due to a year end journal in the way, however there is no year end there and I cannot change the lock date either, please could you point me in the right direction?

I am told that a year end journal was applied and then removed, and the lock was not rolled back. I passed it over to the dev team to investigate, in the mean time the lock was manually removed so you should be able to delete/modify that journal.

@Glenn, thank you for sorting that, we’ve transferred from TAS Basics to Quickfile and all the YE are not done etc causing a bit of head ache :smile:
hopefully we’ll get it sorted and then can carry on
