I’m trying to complete a VAT return but when I get into ‘ Create’ My VAT return already has figures that make no sense and I can’t adjust or delete them. There is no ‘red marker’.

You can not delete transactions from a vat return screen
Vat returns are designed to pick up anything prior to or within their period which are unreconciled.
As you are on cash accounting the return will use the payment date (the tax point) to assign invoices to the return.
If you click on the box with the value you can see what makes the figure up.
Look at the payment dates of the invoices, if they are incorrect you can edit them in the banking screen
