Applying Credit Notes

We have a customer who is supplied on a sale or return basis. Credit notes are raised against previously paid invoices and the customer then applies specific credit notes in part payment of specific invoices. In Quickfile I can’t see a way to match either a specific credit note or to apply part of the outstanding credit balance as part paymenty of a specific invoice.

If you credit note an invoice and opt to hold the balance on the client account, you should see on the client detail screen a value under the credit header.

Now if you locate any outstanding invoice for that client and log a payment you should see a yellow bar to allocate the payment from credit:
