Arrow key to select sales inventory item

Not sure if this is a feature request or a bug but when filling in an item in an invoice the predictive text will come up with 3-4 results. it would be very handy to select the correct one with the arrow keys as you can for most of the rest of QF.
For some reason you can’t and have to move to the mouse to select it which does slow things down a bit! A QF? (Quick Fix!)

Hi @Paul

I’ll mention this to our dev team and see what can be done here. It probably won’t be until Tuesday before I’m able to come back to you unfortunately, but watch this space. I’ll update you shortly.

I was going to start another topic on this but I think it is probably all related to the text box UX in some fashion. When clicking in the text box for nominals, on the receipt hub or purchase receipt entry screens, your text is inserted into the current word. Ideally the box should be cleared when you click in the box and open the dropdown.

I’ve logged this and it should get looked at later this week. Although it’s not strictly a bug, as it was never originally designed to utilise the cursor and keys.

@Lurch these category select menus are part of the JQuery UI library, the combobox seems to be hard-coded to work that way. We can have a look at overriding it’s behaviour, but I’m not sure how easy that will be.

It would be nice if it worked properly, but I wouldn’t worry about spending time on it rewriting JQuery functions etc. I am having the same issues with some default Bootstrap classes atm as well so I know how it goes!

Thanks Glenn. and a few more words.

Pleased to say this has been addressed. You should now be able to cursor   through your inventory options and select with the Enter key.

Great ! Thanks.
I did wonder when I got QF almost 4 years ago if you would be able to keep up the amazing support response and incredibly, you have!
