I am trying to find out if the value in the ‘Qty’ column of invoices can be auto updated without having to import a csv file?
Whilst searching I did see a similar question answered (sorry can’t find it again) but wondered if there are now any other options for the updating info to come from other spreadsheets instead of Excel eg. Googlesheets, through Dropbox or whether using other software to create and send invoices and then somehow importing that completed info would be the only option? I was hopeful that Zapier would help until I realised it’d cost about £900 per year! Any ideas?
Just to get an idea of the use-case, why do you need to update quantities on invoice columns in bulk?
Also where did you get the £900 figure from for Zapier? I think you’d need to be posting huge volumes to get anywhere near £900. They give you 100 tasks per month for free.
Not sure I described this too well. I would like to update individual customer quantities (and I’m struggling with terminology here) from another source. As work is carried out during the day an amount is allocated to a customer on a spreadsheet. If this amount could auto update the qty ‘box’ for a particular customer it would save a lot of time for me.
With regards to Zapier maybe I didn’t understand correctly. I’d estimate the spreadsheet would have about 150 entries per day.
Zapier can only create invoices on QuickFile so it wouldn’t be a solution here.
I’ve got a feeling you may need to build some API integration (see invoicing methods here) as it seems to be something more bespoke that you’re looking for.
You can also access an API sandbox area with some pre-loaded examples (Account Settings >> 3rd Party Integrations >> API), I think you’d almost exclusively be using the Invoice_Update method
