my quickfile balance is different from my bank balance, i think originally before had bank feed i did not set a starting balance , is there a way to set this now
If you haven’t locked off the year then yes you can set a starting balance but you will also need to know what this balance is and tag it as such. Was it retained profit? Or something else. Otherwise it will sit in the suspense account.
hi paul , give me a clue how to put in a start balance as been running it for over 12 months , never locked off
Go to your list of banks. Press the option button. Then account settings. You see a tick box that says this account has an opening balance. Tick. It. Add a balance. Click save.
It will create a journal with the opening balance and a matching entry to the suspense account. You’ll need change it to whatever the balance represents.
