Bank Feed Renewal Not Renewing Existing Feed

I have just tried to renew my bank feed with Lloyds (7 days to expire) and everything seems to work fine with Lloyds but when the web page is transferred back to QuickFile it has created a whole new feed and when trying to link the account I receive the following message:

“The data feed for selected bank account has been already activated for another QuickFile bank account”

I found the exact same issue on a previous thread and the chat was moved to private messaging.

Thanks

Hi @http2000,

You may find the easiest way to do it would be to go to the bank account view and remove the current feed.

You can then re-link the new feed and delete the now expired feed.

Thanks for the advice.

What if a transaction comes in between the cancellation and renewal, would it be picked up with no issues?

Has the old feed actually expired? When you set up the link you can usually refresh the feed and pick up anything from the past 14 days.

If the transactions aren’t picked up/pulled through then you may have to upload a bank statement for the missing day/days

No the old feed has 7 dayshift, why would I not be able to renew the existing feed? It was fine renewing fine the last time, I have 7 bank feeds across two quick file accounts and don’t really want to be going through that much admin if there is another way?

You should just be able to renew the existing feed, there have been some updates with Lloyds feeds recently which is why you have ended up with the 2 feeds, going forward this shouldn’t happen again

Thanks, I am sure it will be fine with low chance of transactions coming in at that moment.

I didn’t try the other bank feeds from other banks.

Regards

Just had a problem with HSBC as well, HSBC goes through the renewal process and then this error message comes up when back to the feeds page on QuickFile:

“HSBC authorisation server returned an error: Authorization Code Response Error: invalid_request”

I revoked the Lloyds feed and reconnected fine.

When I revoked the HSBC feed and tried making a new connection I received the same error message so now I have no HSBC feeds at all, please advise what I should do next?

Error message again with a new connection was:

HSBC authorisation server returned an error: Authorization Code Response Error: invalid_request

Hi @http2000

I’ve just checked this with our development team.

We are aware of an issue affecting a small number of HSBC users. Unfortunately, the issue seems to be on HSBC’s side. We have contacted them to try and resolve this, but we’re still waiting for a response.

Thanks for the update Matthew, any idea of a timescale and how could I keep up to date with any developments?

Thanks

In regards to timescale, unfortunately we’re waiting on HSBC to come back to us, so it’s dependant on how long it takes them. I’d like to think we’d have an answer before the close of business tomorrow, but watch this space.

Either myself or one of my colleagues will post any updates here, or on our status page - https://status.quickfile.co.uk.

Thanks Matthew, I found the status web link also.

I’m having a similar problem with a Lloyds business account. Client is trying to connect expired account via the ‘renew’ option in open banking. All is fine, but when Lloyds activation comes back to QF the only drop down option to connect to is ‘GBP Current Account’ and when choosing this we get: “The data feed for selected bank account has been already activated for another QuickFile bank account”

Should we revoke and re-connect as worried about loosing the previous current account transactions and whether re-connecting might start up a new current account call GBP Current Accoutn and end up with two accounts?

Hi @albereto,

There was some changes made to lloyds on our end and it sounds like you’ve ended up with two links. You will need to remove the expired link and just use the new one.

You may need to disconnect the expired feed from your bank account first before you are able to remove it. Please let me know if you need any help

Hi @QFBeth
Sure, I will do that but will we end up with the old dead feed and a new current account feed or will the new one join up with the disconnected one - not sure if I’m making sense - but end up with 2 bank accounts in QF?

once you disconnected and deleted the old ‘dead’ feed then you will be able to link the new one. Hope that helps

Thanks @QFBeth will give that a try.

Hello, was there any updates from HSBC, I was still unable to connect to the HSBC feeds when I tried yesterday?

Hi @http2000,

Unfortunately we are still working with HSBC and waiting for an update to resolve the issue. We are hoping that it shouldn’t be too long.

Please keep an eye on the status page for any issues with bank feeds: https://status.quickfile.co.uk/
