Bank statement import errors

I am having trouble downloading statements from the Co-op bank. I am using a csv file from the bank and importing into Quick file. The file loads OK but some detail is missing ie:

The entries for own banking credits are not included, but on checking the file in excel they are present.

Not all the columns from the bank statement are included, there are eight columns in the file but only 5 shown in quick file.

I am using the co-op option when importing. I have tried the OTHER option but you can’t have enough columns.
I have checked the forum and could not find an answer to this. Rather worrying that info should just go missing. I can
send you the csv file if you wish. Hope you can resolve this problem for me.

QuickFile will only take 3 columns from your statement.

  • Transaction date
  • Reference
  • Amount

For any bank we map a column position for each and only pull out that data, all other columns will be ignored. As you can probably appreciate trying to map and merge multiple columns for many different banks is not something that is straightforward, particularly when banks have a habit of changing these from time-to-time.

The only way to get all that information in is to merge the columns on Excel then import into QF.
