Barlcays feed not importing new transactions during the day

Hi QF Support

Bank feed not importing new transactions during the day

I have noticed since around the end of June which I think was also the time, the 14 day period to refresh was introduced when refreshing the bank feed manually during the day.

This has happened a couple of times, once I did not do anything and the transactions came through during the 1 am update that QF does itself.

On the other one, I really needed to tag the new transactions but they would not come through. Somehow I ended up on the ‘additional data’ option when looking at the feed details and QF connected to the bank to get the ‘balances’. After that when I went to refresh the feed, then the system managed to import the new transactions.

I am experiencing the same at the moment. The bank balance in the feed account data is showing a higher amount but no transactions are coming through when I refresh the feed.

I am with HSBC.

Please can you check what is the issue?

I will not refresh the feed manually for now until you have looked at it.

Thanks

(Also please check that between 14.30 and now 14.48 I did a refresh which I can’t see a log off when nothing was imported).

I have just tried to refresh my bank feed at 20.24 and it has not imported the new transaction.
I logged into HSBC itself to have a look earlier this afternoon.

I am sure the new transaction will come through in the morning refresh, but please can you check if there is an issue?

Thanks

Hi @Sameera

With HSBC, the feed will only run overnight. The only feed that updates during the day is Starling as their feed works differently (they notify us of new transactions as they happen).

We also only import cleared/booked transactions. Anything pending is ignored as these wouldn’t show on your bank statement, and QuickFile should reflect this.

I’m not 100% certain with HSBC, but there are some banks who always take midnight as the cleared time. So even if something appears during the day, it’s not shown until the following day.

I will look into this further, and come back to you.

OK thank you. Just for FYI, I have been on the HSBC open banking feed since July 2019 for this account and another acocunt since 2018, they all imported transactions when I manually refreshed the feed soon after the transactiosn went through.

Yes indeed. I can see that the booked balance is higher when I look at the additional data under the bank feed refresh.

Hi @Sameera

I’ve just manually run the feed on the account you mentioned, and 2 transactions were imported.

However, as mentioned above, both of these transactions actually have a booked date/time of midnight.

Thanks Matthew

Does this mean HSBC has changed something on their side in the last few weeks?

As I mentioned I have always been able to import transactions during the day afte rmaybe half-hour of making that transaction. (i am only refering to bank transfers - not card payments as I know these take 2-3 days to appear).

is the issue resolved or you have only done a manual run (which I can’t do) ?

Thanks

As far as I can see, there isn’t an issue here as such. The transactions are “booked” at midnight, but they may not necessarily show up until a while later.

If you notice this happening again, if you let us know as soon as possible, we can look at the live data to see what’s coming back.
