Can quickfile update the date input options, or can i change it?

surely this isnt just me who finds this annoying, and surely its an easy fix?

when inputting the date manually (not using the calendar date picker), could there be an option to use dd/mm/yy, rather than dd/mm/yyyy?

a few years back, it seemed every instance of a manual input would require you to use yyyy, but more recently i have noticed you can use yy in some places, but not others?

i dont have specific examples, but i mean an all versions of inputting invoices, purchase orders, receipt tagging, editing dates, making adjustments.

some places dd/mm/yy seems to work, and quickfile auto corrects it, and some places it doesnt which sometimes ends up with an error or reverting to an incorrect date.

when manually typing in dates, id like to be able to input via keyboard or phone dd/mm/yy and for it to work everywhere

thanks

the best i can find is this

Go to Account Settings
Navigate to Company Settings
Scroll down to the Date Format option (near the bottom of the list)

there is no dd/mm/yy option?
most other options seem to be available, including dd/mmm/yy and d/mmm/yy.

is this an over sight?
it is a particular bug bear to me every time i use quickfile. it seems like its always messing with my dates and input due to me using the keyboard and inputting it in the quickest way which is always dd/mm/yy

Hi @adnw

The date option only affects how it’s displayed not how the date is entered. These are currently fixed to the dd/mm/yyyy format.

However, entering the date as dd/mm/yy does seem to work. When saving the invoicing the date is accepted.

hi
entering the date as dd/mm/yy definately does not work in a lot of places.
i cant remember where to be specific, but lots of places it falls over, reverts to the wrong date, reverts to todays date, or wont let you tab out of it.

i think the receipt hub is a culprit, you cant use dd/mm/yy,

it definately does not work when logging a payment against a purchase invoice.
pay in full, tab to the date, you get this error
Please enter a valid payment date (dd/mm/yyyy)

another one.
new purchase record, when tabbing through to get to receipt date, if you enter dd/m/yy, then tab to payment due date, it remains empty and doesnt auto fill.
if you then try to save details, you get an error.
