CIS deductions to offset payments

Hi, I’ve been working as a sub-contractor occasionally within the CIS scheme so have had deductions made. I’ve now registered as a contractor under CIS as occasionally I’ll need to sub-contract someone to help me.

My question is can I offset any deductions that have been made as a sub-contractor against any payments I’ll need to make to HMRC for deductions I’ve made as a contractor or are the two completely separate?

I do not employ anyone under PAYE and I’m a sole trader.

Only companies can use arrangement to reclaim CIS deductions taken from payments against its liabilities for it sub-contractors & PAYE/NI but not individual subcontractors or partnerships.

Ok thanks for clarifying.
