I’ve just set up a company making home made cosmetics. There’s quite a lot of equipment I’ve had to purchase to get going. Things that will be used over and over again every time I make something. For example a silicon mold for making soaps, and glass beakers for measuring liquids, weighing scales for weighing ingredients.

My question is - what category/ code would I list these purchases under?

If they are items that you routinely use in your business to carry out your trade and the value is roughly over £100, you can tag these as assets.

There’s a generic category you can use called ‘Office Equipment (0030)’. When you tag such items to an asset code like this they will show up on your balance sheet.
