Hi Support Team,
I’m having trouble connecting my American Express account via the Open Banking feed.
I’ve successfully connected other accounts (Monzo and Barclaycard) without any issues, so the setup seems to be working generally.
However, when I try to connect American Express:

I’m able to log in successfully through the authentication page

After logging in, nothing happens and the connection does not complete
-
When I refresh the page, I receive the following error message:
“American Express authorisation server returned an error”
I’ve tried refreshing and repeating the process, but the issue persists.
Could you please investigate or let me know if this is a known issue with American Express connections?

Can I just confirm where the issue happens - is it after approving the authorisation on AmEx, or when you return to QuickFile?
If it’s on the AmEx side of things (e.g. you’re not sent back to QuickFile automatically, or the authorisation doesn’t complete), this would be an AmEx issue and you would need to speak with them. If it’s the latter, it may be something on our end so we can take a look at it for you.
If you could confirm, that would be great as a starting point.
Hello @QFMathew , it does go back to Quick File website after authentication and selection of Card number, and then the error message appears on Quick File website.

@QFMathew working perfectly now for me. Before this error, I noted I was getting only the credits (monthly payments to Amex), but so far the debits are showing. I will monitor and let you know. Thanks for the quick support!
