Credit note - system trying to use already used CN#

I have tried to create a credit note against INV#000117 but the credit note is being assigned a CN# CN00006 which has already been used. I cannot manually change it and have tried everything I can think of to issue the credit note successfully. Am I missing something?!

Please retry now.

What happened was a previous credit note was copied with the same CN reference thus causing a conflict with the numbering. The original problem was discovered and fixed a couple of weeks ago.
