CSV Import - money in/out not working

Hi,

I’m trying to import a CSV with the format:

I’ve selected “upload statement”, selected “other”, then selected “My CSV statement has two columns for money in and money out”. I then select the correct columns for each field and click import.

Only the “fee” column is imported, there are no credits. What would cause this?

Are you trying to import both the amount and fee column from the same line?
The importer will only pick up one of the values (not both). In this case, it’s picking up the last column as money out and entering that one, and by-passing the money in column.

What I would suggest is:

1. Upload the file as ‘Other’ selected as the bank
2. Link all the columns correctly, e.g.:
   
   
3. Save that file, and repeat the process.
4. When it comes to mapping the columns, don’t tick the box, and select column 3 as the money column (as they’re all positive figures, this would be treated as money in):
   
   
5. Save
6. You should now have a money in transaction created from the value in column 3, and a money out transaction created from the value in column 4:
   

By doing it this way, if you have quite a few transactions you can upload them quickly and easily without modifying the file.
