Deleting previous years accounts

Hi I started to use Quickfile for my last accounting year (ending Feb 2015), but didn’t continue (a bookkeeper came into the company and did the accounts manually - but this didn’t work out) and I am trying to restart with my new financial year (starting 1 March 2015) by adding my purchases and invoices from now.

I have tried to delete the purchases and invoices from Quickfile for last year, but when I look at the dashboard, they still show. I then researched your help section and realised I needed to close the year. However, the dashboard still shows last years information.

Can you help me? I want to clear everything off from last year and just start again (my book keeper has submitted my end of year accounts so I won’t need last year’s info on quickfile).

Hope you can help because I’m a novice user, and am in a tangle!

I’ve not sure how much you’ve entered for this accounting year but one option would have been to simply clear the account.

Closing an accounting year won’t clear the figures from the dashboard, it simply journals out all your P&L items into the balance sheet. If you want to remove all your financial records for the previous year you’d need to do so manually by going into all sales invoices, purchases and bank transactions then isolating all items for that range and deleting in bulk.
