I would like to see a toggle for payment types to be enabled or disabled by default for new customers.
The majority of my customers are corporate customers who pay by bank transfer, but I have linked a GoCardless account specifically for one or two clients who need to pay by card. For those specific clients I factor in the additional overhead into my margins.
When creating a new client, 99/100 times I would not want to enable GoCardless, so having to remember to edit the new client and disable the payment type is both an additional admin job and leads to the possibility of losing a significant portion of the margin on a small one off sale.
On the Settings - Payment Integrations page I would expect to see an ‘Enable for new clients’ toggle on each payment provider, ticked by default (to match the current default behaviour) but unselecting the option will set the default to disabled for new clients. The current behaviour to override this setting per client would remain, only the default state of that setting would change based on the new toggle.
