Could you tell me why some of my transactions come up with the dynamic tagging option and some don’t? I have numerous regular transactions every month that I would like to auto tag with the manual confirmation option. How do I set these up?
You need to set up the bank tagging rules for them to work on a regular basis. You can view what ones you have by going to Bank Accounts > Bank tagging rules:
You can set new ones up here too
I understand about bank tagging rules - my question is, why do some transactions have the dynamic tagging option so I can set up the tagging rule as I tag a transaction, and some don’t. I have over 250 customers who all pay the same amount each month - some of them have the dynamic tagging option, some don’t. Same with my suppliers.
Generally it’s only things that are fixed. For example, salaries are always to the same nominal code, drawings the same, VAT and other tax payments the same. Transfers are always from one account to another (in the case of bank tagging rules, the word ‘PayPal’ can be used to autotag to the PayPal account) - they don’t change.
When it comes to paying suppliers or payments from clients, the system doesn’t know what invoices it should tag them to, so as far as I’m aware, you can’t currently automate this with the tagging rules, as you normally would.
It would be good to get an example of this from an untagged entry. Feel free to send me a private message with the bank entry date and amount along with how you are tagging.
