Hi, I have input my invoices from November 2022 to January 2023. Although once I move to the report they pull through onto a report for the period February to April. I have deleted all the invoice and tried imput them again to see if it was an error although the same thing is happening. Can you help on where I have going wrong or what I can do?
Hello @1643-a
Which report are you running?
If it is a vat return and you are on cash accounting. It sounds like you have entered the payment dates as a February date.
On vat cash accounting, the program uses the payment dates to assign the invoices to the correct returns.
Invoices would have to be paid with a date within November 2022 to January 2023 for the invoices to show on that return.
If you have entered the payments with the wrong dates you can find them in the bank window and edit the dates.
Hi, no all the dates have been checked and aren’t for February. I have deleted them all and entered again they now all show in the correct VAT Return report for November to January. Only problem is that they are all also in February to April.
If I submit the VAR return for November to January. Will this be a problem when I come to do February to April?
You’re seeing a side effect of the way QuickFile automatically pulls forward late entries into the next available return - it includes everything dated before the end of the period you’re preparing that has not already been locked down by a submitted return.
Once the Nov-Jan return is submitted that will lock the relevant transactions down, and then they will stop appearing when you try to prepare a return for Feb-Apr.
