Error message

Im getting this error message when attempting to submit vat return

We’re having a problem preparing your VAT Return

Error: Under the Making Tax Digital rules VAT returns should be supported by accounting records. This VAT return appears to consist only of adjustments and cannot be submitted to HMRC. If you prefer to submit your return from an Excel document then please use the VAT bridging module instead.

Ive inputted all my receipts that I want to claim vat back on. Anyone able to help?

I had a look at your account and you had the vat filing start date set incorrectly as shown below.

This was excluding anything before 30/08/2022

I have amended this to 01/05/2022.

You return now generates correctly

Thanks very much QFSteve. Its great to get some help. However it is now prepopulating box 4 and box 7 with figures slightly different than those I have on my precalculated paper copy. Any idea why?

Hi @RSLOUY

At the top of the VAT return, you’ll see an “Export” button. If you click this, it’ll give you a breakdown of how everything is calculated.
