Did you modify the opening balance on either of your current accounts? It seems that the accounts were temporarily out of sync due to an opening balance. I’ve fixed this for you and passed the details over to an engineer.
Thanks Glen,
I was only renaming 2 bank accout names, then I noticed that the journal entry for the opening balance of one of them still showed the old name so I changed that entry(one of the two entries) thats when it stopped showing the chart of accounts.
I have noticed a 3rd entry on that journal, so it seams to have created a suspense entry which was showing on the profit and loss and that will have caused it not to balance,
which I thought could not happen!
Just double checked an its back to 2 entries but the original second entry was to the dir loan account not the suspense account, shall I just change that baack to the loan account?
Yes please change it back to the loan account, if needed. I know we made some changes on the bank modify screen last week, so I’ve bounced this back to the engineer who made those updates to see why this happened.
Hi Glen, I did that then finished off with the name change via the the chart of accounts.
However the chart of accounts disappeared again as it added that same 3rd entry(suspense entry throwing the balance out) to the original “opening bank balance” journal.
So I just reopened that journal and deleted the suspense entry to balance it, which brought back the chart of account.
Hope the engineer can prevent this happening
Can I just check, are you changing the bank nominal code directly in the journal, i.e. to move the opening balance from the current account to the directors loan account?
