Error on EC Sales list does not update after submission

Hello,

We’d submitted an EC Sales list and it was rejected due to an error in the VAT numbers. We corrected this and re-submitted.

QF came back with a screen confirming it has been submitted:

SUCCESSFULLY SUBMITTED ON 12/11/2015

However the response table below still showed the original error:

07/08/2015 00:00Country Not Supported For Specified Period

Another quarter we submitted successfully first time round shows the correct/expected response:
12/11/2015 00:00EU Sales have been successfully acknowledged by HMRC

We assumed it had not submitted so ended up submitting three more times before realising that it had worked and all four correct submissions are visible in HMRC!

The ECSL is not quite as sophisticated as the actual VAT return. We don’t store the content of the report so effectively you can go in and resubmit again. If you log onto your Gov gateway you should be able to remove any duplicates, although it is my understanding that HMRC will take the most recent submission.

We will most likely revisit the ECSL next year and physically store copies of the report.
