I have some clients setup with reoccurring invoices which are linked to GoCardless for automatic payment requests. When the monies have been received by GoCardless, they (GoCardless) update my Credit Card account in QF rather than the main business Current Account.
Have you got it set up correctly in the account settings > 3rd party integrations area? You should be able to tell it which account to post to in there.
There isn’t anything in the account settings > 3rd party integrations area referring to accounts or Gocardless. I setup the clients GoCardless accounts via QF and the rest is automatic. There isn’t anything for me to adjust.
It shouldn’t update your main business account, as it will be logging the individual transactions not the bulk remittances.
There should be a dedicated GoCardless merchant account where the individual transactions are logged to, you can update the receiving account in Account Settings >> Manage Payment Options… Have a look under GoCardless.
Yes, I found the “Integrations” area Lurch referred to. I had setup a GoCardless merchant account some time ago and have been using that to reconcile the nett payments they send me. What I didn’t realise was I had to hit the “Activate” button in the integrations area. Consequently the past 3 months payments have been logged into my RBS Credit Card account.
How do I transfer these payments from the RBS Credit Card account into my Gocardless merchant account? Do I need to setup a journal?
If you were seeing the “Activate” button just now it means your GoCardless account was never linked? So nothing should have been automatically inserted.
You would need to delete and re-enter those items manually, or export and import from CSV.
Yes, very strange. I’ll wait until next months invoices are paid and see what happens. I have transferred the past payments from the credit card account into the Gocardless account so that is all fixed and correct.
One last job, export and import the whole credit card account into my wifes QF account. How can I/can you trigger a complete QF backup if my Internet Pipelines UK account? I can then extract the credit card data and create a csv import.
