How do I import my paypal history

Hello,

I am soon to set myself up as a soletrader and do my first tax return, which is a little daunting.

I am hoping to use Quickfile to do this.

All of my historical sales and many of my purchases are done via PayPal so I want to import all my data for the 20/21 tax year.

I hoped when I set iPayPal up as a bank all the data would be imported but it seems only the PayPal data from today onwards gets imported.

I have read I can import historical data, but how do I do that?

What should I export from PayPal, and where should I import it in Quickfile?

I would like all the data, sales, purchases and refunds.

Thank you for any advice!

Hi @sjb

Unfortunately, given the way that bank feeds work, they only import data from the current date forward.

If you want to import historical data, you will have to upload a csv file containing the data. For more information on how to do this, please use the following guide: Importing your bank statement, this is a generic one for bank statements, however, it works in the same way.

For more information on PayPal feeds in general, please check out the following link: Setup PayPal automated feed

On another note, if you have purchases and invoices that you need to upload, you can also do this from a csv file. The following link will take you through how to do that: Importing sales and purchase invoices

I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you for the reply. I have imported all my data, but the PayPal fees seem to have been lost.

How would I import the PayPal fees from a CSV file as an expense on each item? Or can I have the sale price minus the paypal fee as the default for money in?

Cheers.
