I think you misunderstood. Separate your thinking a bit and it makes sense.
First you did a journal. That’s it, done with that, forget about it now.
Second, completely separately, you set up a recurring schedule. The recurring schedule is set to start next month, then repeat another 8 times, so 9 times total. The automation is happening 9 times. Put 9 in the box, it does the thing 9 times.
The same logic recurs across all of the recurring schedules in QF.
I want the first journal to post to the accounts on 1st December = 1 post
And I want that journal to repeat 8 more times = 8 repeats.
I guess what might have confused me is that when I set up the initial one, I clicked Save.
I must have thought that clicking on Save meant that this has been logged into the system.
Then, when I want to set up a repeat, I thought as above.
I’m just going to follow your advice and type in the total number of times I want the journal to post to the accounts, including the first one.
So if I put 9 in the occurrences box, there will be 9 postings (not 10).
