I added a bank account to a QuickFile account but now wish to remove it, but the delete button is disabled and the tooltip says “This is a system account and cannot be deleted”.
There was a Yodlee bank feed associated but it’s been disconnected. There are no transactions, journals, or opening balance. The bank account is now named “Deleted” and has no sort code or number. How can I remove it?
Thanks for the quick reply, although it’s very disappointing to see it will be there forever! What can I do to minimise (ideally, eliminate) it’s impact on journals, reporting, and so on?
It can’t be completely hidden - it will always appear on your chart of accounts for example. You can remove it from your dashboard if you wish, by viewing the statement for click on More Options >> Settings, and unticking the Show bank account summary on the dashboard option.
On the same page, you should also see the nominal code at the top - can I just double check what it is please? The only reason I ask is because you mentioned above that you created it, which in that case it wouldn’t be a system code.
If there is no data in the account, it won’t appear on your balance sheet, and unless it’s used specifically in a journal, it won’t be included in them.
