How to enter payments not linked to an invoice

I am considering moving to QuickFile from another accounting package. I cannot see how to receipts not linked to an invoice for example:

  1. Investment by a third party in return for shares
  2. Research and Development Tax credit

You can tag items directly to nominal codes

such as for example a shares code
