How to report/export invoice items?

I am looking for a way to export a list of all sales invoice items. i.e. a single list of every item from every sales invoice with qty & cost.

I’m afraid the invoice export tool will only provide the invoice header details and totals, it doesn’t include the underlying line items. You can export a detailed nominal ledger report from your Chart of Accounts area, this will show invoice line level amounts but with out the specific descriptions.

The only other alternative I am afraid is to use the API invoice_get method to loop all your invoices and extract the data in JSON or XML.
