Hi
Have had to change my year end date date and have switched from Sage. I am using quick file from April onwards. My VAT quarter is March, April, May so I have everything for march on sage that needs to be included in my next return. How can I add VAT due for March to my return in quick file?
Thanks
You can make manual adjustments to the boxes you submit in QuickFile to add the values calculated by sage. When you make adjustments like this that affect the final vat in box 5, the balancing entry goes on the nominal called “manual adjustments”, so you’ll then need to make another journal to move it off there to the correct place.
If you imported a trial balance when moving from sage then the March sales and purchase vat will presumably be in the relevant control account nominals, so you’d journal the box 1 and 4 adjustments off the control accounts and put the balancing entry on manual adjustments.
Thank you for you quick reply Ian, that is good to know and really helpful. I’ve yet to submit a return so was stressing about it!
