When I pull up a list of sales invoices the description is listed under ‘Invoice Name’.
When this is exported the detail is shortened and does not show the whole description.
Is there anything we can do about this please.

The description is restricted to 35 characters, which can either be defined by the user (if the setting is enabled), or it takes the first 32 characters of the first line of the invoice, and add ‘…’.
This unfortunately can’t be changed.

I’ve had a quick look through the feature requests, and can’t seem to find this being brought up before. I can certainly convert your thread to a feature request if you wish, and we’ll monitor the interest from there?
One thing you may prefer to do is to enable the editing of the invoice name yourself, so you can at least use the field to state something more meaningful to your business. This can be enabled under Account Settings >> Advanced Features, and switch this setting to on:
This will then add this field to your invoice creation page:
Thank you for your response - I’m not sure this will help much, as what we are after is to be able to export, using the export function, the full description, rather than a truncated one.
No problem. I’ve converted this to a feature request. If there’s enough support from the community for the change, then we’ll happily take a look to see how feasible this would be to change.
