Hi, and Happy New Year to all users!
I run my own gardening business as a sole trader and have to cover myself for personal accident and public liability insurance. Just coming up for renewal with Towergate Insurance (based in Surrey), but not too happy to find they are jacking the premium up nearly 25%!
Would welcome any pointers (from fellow sole traders) on other companies I might approach with a view to getting a quote…

New year, but same old pain of insurance premiums!
We’re not in the same industry, but we usually get a quote via Simply Business (they’re a broker). We use them now as a limited company, and previously as a sole trader, and never had any issues. That said, we’ve never had to make a claim (thankfully).
Not sure how they would compare, but it may be worth giving it a go.
I am a Sole Trader (communications consultant) and also use Simply Business and have done for several years. Very satisfied with the quotes they get me and saves trawling the Internet myself!
I have used http://www.ajginternational.com/ for the last couple of years as they have offered some specialised policies for me and this year they have combined it all into a single policy which reduced the premiums by half.
