In short, no.
As I understand it the Cash Register Tool was developed to allow quick entry by people who finish the day’s trading with a bag of cash from assorted sales. If you need to split sales across several codes then you need a standard invoice, Either create one from scratch or edit the one created by the Cash Register Tool.
I know that I have two different nominals that I could use the tool for, I am stuck with creating invoices for one and using the tool for the other.
