We are trying to find out if we can create invoices for a childminding business. We want to be able to log hours cared for on a daily basis and invoice once a month, but want the invoice to detail the date and hours cared for on the individual days so the parents can see clearing what they are paying for.

Our invoices come with two options - item lines, and time lines.
The time lines would allow you to enter the number of hours and rate, and you can freely enter as many of these as you like (I believe there is a cap on the amount, but I’ve never known anyone to hit it).
You can add these lines from the create invoice screen:
The heading is also customisable, so if you wanted hours, you can set this up under Account Settings >> Invoice Customisation, and select the Itemised Area.
This will then give you the option to also select your default line type, so instead of clicking the ‘Add New Line’ button (as per the screenshot above), you can just use the little green plus:

Thanks for the quick reply. Ideally we are looking for a calendar view and days that the child is cared for we add the number of hours on that particular day and then it gives a monthly invoice total, not sure this is possible?
Our old childminder just used and Excel sheet with days of the week

Unfortunately there’s no calendar features to enable you to do that.
How do you record the times at the moment, do you still use a spreadsheet? Perhaps we can suggest a way of doing it?
