why has our invoice numbers changed to alphabet??

The invoice numbering works from the previous invoice. So if the invoice that was processed previously ended in a letter then the new invoice will use this format and end in the next letter.
You can adjust the invoice numbering to whatever you like. Just over-type in the box. It should then work for any going forward
