I have used sales, purchases and banking entries, but I now want to do payroll entries by using a journal. How do I make a journal entry. I know it seems basic but there is no apparent option for journal entries.

Go to Reports - Chart of Nominal Accounts. In the top grey bar, next to Create new account, is a tab New Journal.

“Journals” is an option under the reports menu, which I agree isn’t the most obvious place for it.
