Making Tax Digital VAT return problem

Hi, I thought I had linked my account way back in November but when I went to submit a VAT return today I am still getting the message that it is not set up yet. I definitely have the right VAT number. Any ideas how I raise this problem and with whom? Wondered if it could be something to do with my trading name being the Quickfile company name as opposed to my Ltd company name?

You are not yet authorised to view this report for the VRN 114003189 . Please ensure your VAT number is correct and you have connected the corresponding HMRC Tax Account. If you have recently enrolled on the MTD scheme please allow 24 hours for HMRC systems to update.

Hi @TristanDouglas

This error is one that is returned by HMRC, usually it is one of 3 things:

  1. The wrong tax account has been linked
  2. The account is still pending with HMRC, this can take 72 hours to go through.
  3. You are not yet enrolled with Making Tax Digital.

If you think that none of these apply to you, I would suggest contacting HMRC to see if they can shed any more light on it.
