I need to raise a manual sales credit note for refunds given to customers. These are direct debit payments that were taken in error, sales vat was paid but as these payments had to be repaid I need to do a credit so I can claim the extra paid vat back on my vat return. How do I do this?
Presumably you raised invoices on the customers’ accounts to account for the payments taken. The normal procedure would be to simply open these and raise credit notes against them.
