Manually entering transactions

Hi, I’m new to Quickfile, i have managed to import 6 months transactions from my bank, but i need to enter all transactions going back 2 years, i’ve been entering individual purchases and individual sales manually but they’re not showing under transactions, what do i need to do to be able to view the newly created transactions?

A purchase or sales invoice is not a bank transaction.

You will need to enter a bank transaction then tag the transaction to the invoice to complete the trail. If you can get yourself an export of your bank transactions you can speed up the process a bit and also you might want to look into bulk invoice entry.

Hi, Many thanks for taking the time to respond it’s very much appreciated, i am ok manually entering the transactions, i can do this via accounts - statement - new transaction…however when i have entered a transaction it does not appear in the transaction list (to allow me to tag them) this list only shows transactions from 30 November 2020 (and i am entering transactions from before this date) How do i get the transactions i have entered prior to November 2020 to show for tagging? Sorry for the hassles!

By default the bank statement view only shows transactions from the last 2 years (for some reason) and I don’t think this is mentioned anywhere, So, it depends how far before November 2020 your transactions are. To show all transactions you will need to use the search.

Hi Lurch,
That’ll be the reason then  i’ll try to work around the 2 year limit, explains everything! Many thanks for your help.
