Miscellaneous amount in account, can't be traced - How can I writ it off?

Hi, I am about to close my accounts but it shows as being +£4.55. The thing is I moved bank accounts a while back and no longer have the old transaction list to reference how we spent that £4.55.

Should I just guess and put a transaction in for coffee, or something - or is there a better, more official way to account for that £4.55 - maybe even to just write that £4.55 off as miscellaneous??

Thanks.

Hello @goodsquare

8100 is Bad Debt Write Off as it is such a small amount you could post it there.

You could also post it to Proprietors Drawings Account (Sole Trader) of Directors Loan Account (Limited Company) if it can’t be accounted for.

Your Accountant would be the best person to ask though.
