Monthly VAT returns

I will be filing my first monthly vat return for April by the end of next month. I have edited monthly in VAT setting and saved. However when I go to VAT returns it is showing month of March and not April even after changing to April. How do I amend so month of April shows on VAT returns whenever I log in and not March

What is the VAT start date set to in the company settings?
