Moving away from QuickFile

I am moving to a different accounts software (not because I am unhappy but it suits my business better), currently I am a power user as my account is L.

Would I still need to pay the annual fee to access the records for the next 7 years or would the account drop to free? I’ve seen different comments on this and would be good to get an answer.

Thanks in advance.

The requirement for a subscription is based on the number of nominal postings in a rolling 12 month period. Therefore when you stop adding new entries to QuickFile the rolling 12 month total will begin to gradually decline as more and more of your entries “age out”. At some point during the next 12 months the total will tip back below 1000 and a subscription will become optional rather than required.

So the short answer is that you might need one more year of subscription if you need to access your data between the date your current sub expires and the date when your rolling count falls below 1000, but you won’t need to pay beyond that. You may get away without needing the extra year depending exactly when your current sub runs out vs how long it’ll take to fall back below 1000.

And you can check when that “subscription becomes optional” date will be by looking at the account usage report to find the point where the dates in the left column switch between normal type and italics - that’s where you’re currently passing the 1000 threshold so if you’re not adding any new data then one year from then is the point where the subscription ceases to be required.

Brilliant, thank you very much
