Hi, I’m unable to submit vat return to HMRC via MTD.
It keeps being returned as unsuccessful.
Phoned vat department, they say it might be trying to submit it under the old system through quickfile.
Please help.

Sorry to hear you’re having some problems here.
Can I check first of all, have you linked your HMRC and QuickFile accounts together?

Yes, I’ve set up with HMRC & received confirmation a couple of weeks ago.
Could I send you my account details for you to access it.
I’ve read similar threads aswell to try and make sense of it.
The log in password and user ID keep appearing when I remove tic from the boxes of enabling online submission and also Enable MTD .
If you could take over the account to sort it out, that would be great.

What I mean with regards to linking QuickFile and HMRC, is literally linking the 2 accounts in Reports >> HMRC. If this isn’t done, there’s no link there to facilitate MTD returns.
In your VAT settings, both MTD and Online Submission should be ticked (ignore the username and password boxes - these aren’t used for MTD).
