In store credit has been allocated in multiple currencies (USD and GBP). Now I have GBP in credit, however, the invoice that I need to allocate the payment to is in USD. The system do not allow me to allocate GBP to USD invoice. Is there a solution to this?
If you go into the invoice, and click ‘Log Payment’, it should allow you to pay a USD invoice from a GBP account:
Not from in store credit.
So the credit is being kept as a pre-payment rather than in a bank account?
Like this:
Correct.
GBP 0.00
USD 191.98
The invoice in question partially has been paid by a debit card in GBP and the rest should go in USD. The platform does not let me do it.
I’m not sure that’s actually possible. Hopefully @Glenn could advise on this?
The only way you can do this is via an intermediary bank account. So you can locate the credit balance on the list of payments then refund to “petty cash” (or some other holding account). Now locate the USD invoice and pay this into petty cash to balance of the previous refund.
Of course you can use a dedicated account for this called “Credit Currency Conversions”. If it’s a one-off I would use petty cash.
Thank you for your help.
