Hi, I have a customer on QuickFile which was created in Feb. A new customer was created on our other package and when this has been pushed through to QuickFile it has used the same account rather than creating a new one. How do I separate them into 2 customers? The invoice for the first customer is sitting on the account, but the account is now in the new name and address.
Thanks, Britta
Hi @Britta
Can I just clarify the situation?
You have a client on QuickFile set up in February. When you created a new client on your own package, you used the API to push this to QuickFile but instead of creating a new client, it’s replaced an existing one. Is that correct?
There’s no separation as such. What you would need to do is create a new client and update the invoices to use the new client rather than the old one. I would suggest looking for the client with the least invoices (means there are less to update!)
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Yes, you supposed correctly. I can resolve it esp as there is only one invoice involved at the moment. Do you know why this may have happened and how I can stop it happening again in the future?
Thanks
I suspect the ClientID has been passed through the API call which means it updated the client rather than created a new one.
I’ll send you a private message to discuss this further. Please look for a green notification in the top right hand corner.
