Is setting up and paying an employee on payroll an easy task on Quickfile or is it something an accountant needs to do?

But if you mean running payroll, as in paying and employee and giving them a payslip, then I’d suggest using HMRC’s Basic PAYE Tools. It is a free program that calculates payroll and sends the right reports to HMRC.
