I am unable to report my VAT returns because I am getting the above message “Power Subscription Required”, on top of the page where I usually have my forms ready to submit my VAT returns. We are pre-revenue, so this would be a bit of an overkill. Is there a way around this?
Thanks
Claude
Hi @claude
If you are using the bridging module (where you upload an Excel document with values), this does require a Power User Subscription. The first return is free, but further submissions would then require the subscription.
If you use QuickFile for your data (issuing invoices, recording expenses, etc.), then the VAT returns are included as part of this.
Thank you so much for your reply Matthew.
I might have used it last time because there was a similar problem where the form to post the VAT return was not available.
Having said that, we are pre revenue so everything is kind of zero for this return. Is there a way of not having to use Power user subscription?
Thanks,
Claude
HI Claude
If you use QuickFile for your records (issuing invoices, recording your purchases, generating estimates, etc.), then VAT returns are included as part of the package. It’s just the VAT bridging module that requires the subscription.
If you use QuickFile, then the account is just subject to the standard pricing outlined on our website.
Thanks again Matthew. No. I do not use quickfule for anything but to file my vat returns.
For now at least, until we get some deals under our belt.
Is there a way forward?
Thanks for your support,
Claude
Hello Claude
If you disable the vat bridging option in the Vat settings the return will look at your invoices and payments, as you are not entering any it would show as zero and allow you to submit a nil return.
If it is not a nil you would need to enter the relevant invoices (and payments if on vat cash) so they are picked up when the return runs.
