Process a refund

hi, if a customer has paid me, and I subsequently have to refund as I cannot supply the goods, how do i log this?

You credit the original invoice and the refund is processed automatically as part of the process.

  • Open the original Invoice.
  • More Options > Credit Note.
  • Amend values as applicable (e.g. part refund).
  • Save.
  • Select the Bank for the refund and refund method.
  • Save.

Hello Steve. Im new to quickfile so unsure what is what. I have managed to create a credit note. when I then go back to the dashboard, I have two lines with the same amount: one refund, and one as a payment. how do i then merge these two together, so that we can see its the same ?

hello Steve again… also when I choose ‘allocate to invoice’ the correct amount isnt there…

You can not allocate a bank transaction from the bank to a credit on a client account.

Follow the process I gave you and delete the untagged entry from the bank to avoid duplication.
