I have just signed up to quickfiles for the upcoming MTD and I was informed by HMRC this is a free app to use for landlords.
I have connected and allowed my HMRC account via connect to Quick Files but when I click on workflow it askes me for 60 quid to buy the MTA self assessment filing? Is this correct? If so please let me know as I will look for another software as I am a landlord who does not earn enough to justify 60 quid for software.
Thanks Steve, I would highly recommend you guys contact the .gov website and let them know your software is not free of charge to use as this is how it is being marketed.
All good I have found another provider who’s app is free and HMRC compatible. Thanks
Hi Steve I have been using QuickFile for VAT MTD for a few years. It has been free to use. My settings show that I am a small user. My income for property and self employment is less than £90,000 so I will not have to submit detailed expenses each quarter but just a single figure. QuickFile’s pricing chart suggests that it is free for “small users”. However, when I now try to input income and expenses for property and self employment, it request me to pay £60. Is this correct even for a small user?
Unfortunately it’s not free ( even though the .gov website says it ). I have found a better and free app called Taxheaven which is free to use and is enough for what you need to do.
