Hi! Hoping someone may be able to help…
I’m trying to set up a recurring invoice profile for a client who needs their invoices in USD as they are based in the States…however, I need each invoice to be exactly £550.00 (GBP) as that is my fee and I don’t want to lose out, or charge too much, so the each invoice must be £550 but in USD at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of the invoice going out.
This means the dollar amount of each monthly invoice in the recurring plan would be different, but I can’t see any options in the recurring profile which would allow this? Is there anything that will let me do this, or do I have to create each monthly invoice manually, at the rate at that time?
Thanks!
Hi @Toni
Unfortunately this isn’t something that’s supported at the moment, and it’s not something I can recall coming up previously. Personlly, I’ve only ever seen a situation where it would be your place to issue an invoice in GBP and the client would have to worry about the conversion.
I can convert this topic to a feature request if you wish - we do actively monitor these and investigate those where there is interest from our community.
The only workaround I can suggest is either create the invoices manually, or perhaps look at the [API] (http://API.QuickFile.co.uk).
Thanks for the response. I have actually started to show the invoices only in the currency for payment. Like you say, leave the customer to convert at the current rate if they wish. Thanks again
